Kurt Harrison is a lifelong resident of Hartford, born and raised in the city’s Northend section. A 1995, Mr. Harrison graduate of Northeastern University (Boston, MA), he was formerly a Program Manager for the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors (RASC), Mr. Harrison was responsible for administering the contract compliance and monitoring program for both the redevelopment of Hartford`s riverfront infrastructure (Adrian’s Landing), as well as the construction of the University of Connecticut’s 40,000 seat football stadium in East Hartford. Accordingly, he was responsible for helping to maximize job opportunities for small and minority business enterprises (S/MBEs) and the minority workforce throughout Greater Hartford and Connecticut in accordance with state goals and requirements. Prior to his current position, Mr. Harrison worked as a Legislative Analyst for the General Assembly and provided research and analysis of issues affecting Connecticut’s African-American comm unities. In service to the state’s Commission on African-American Affairs, Mr. Harison assisted the Commission in the development of its legislative agenda and priorities, and served as the prime liaison between legislators, governmental agencies and external groups.
